About Us

Welcome to Caroline Dance West (CDW), a vibrant community-based competitive dance club for dancers of all ages. Founded in 1986 by a dedicated group of parents, CDW continues to thrive under the guidance of an executive team and its passionate members. Our mission is to provide high-quality dance instruction that is affordable for everyone.

Our 2200 square foot studio, nestled in the beautiful community of Caroline, AB, is located within the Caroline HUB at 5103 48th Ave. Our dancers showcase their hard work and talent at our highly anticipated year-end recital—a show you won’t want to miss!

Fundraising, volunteering, and generous donations from the Caroline community and surrounding areas are instrumental to our club's success. Our professional instructors are dedicated to the success of our dancers and their families, consistently bringing home numerous awards. At CDW, we prioritize innovative choreography, ensuring our team remains at the forefront of dance creativity.

Miss Jamie

Miss Jamie is local to Caroline and shares the same love for CDW. Her dance career started with CDW in 1994 and was enrolled in Ballet, Lyrical, Tap, and Jazz, along with the Royal Academy of Dance, through Joy's School of Dance. During her Graduation year at CDW, Miss Jamie was employed as one of our Junior Dance Instructors, teaching Creative Movement and beginner ballet and tap.

Miss Jamie is certified in the CDTA Annual Syllabus Instensive 2023, Junior A and Junior B Ballet Program.

Miss Jamie has a passion for dance, music, children and the community. She believes in creating a positive learning environment that promotes self expression and builds confidence.

Miss Sophie

Miss. Sophie has been a part of the Caroline dance community for many years and is excited to join the CDW teaching team as a Student Teacher.

Miss. Sophie's continues to dance in tap, jazz, ballet, contemporary, hip hop, & acro. She loves learning & growing as a dancer, and continuing to work on her performance skills.

In addition to her regular training, Miss. Sophie has been continuing her dance education by attending student workshops such as Alixa Flexibility & InTandem Contemporary. She is committed to advance her dance knowledge & experience through more workshops & mentorship.

Miss. Sophie is also actively involved in the community & enjoys volunteering & representing the club for events such as CDW Dance-a—thon, CDW float for parade, and CDW ladies night.

Besides being extremely active with CDW, she enjoys going to concerts, hanging out with her dance friends, and loves animals. She is excited for another great dance season, seeing new faces in the studio and sharing her love of dance with those around her!

Miss Liane

Miss Liane’s passion for dance has been growing since stepping foot in her first dance class at the age of 4. Her formal dance training and performing began in Edmonton, where she studied Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballet, Lyrical, and Musical Theatre. Her love and passion for dance led her to her first dance teaching position. Miss Liane trained for three years under the direction of the highly credited Brian and Faye Foley and is a certified A.D.A.P.T (Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers) teacher. She is currently working on completing her Intermediate Certification with the ADTA (Acro Dance Teachers Association, which is endorsed by A.D.A.P.T, formerly known as Acrobatique). She has received certification in the International Ballet Progression Cecchetti Junior levels through the Edmonton School of Ballet. She is also certified in Alixia Flexibility Levels 1 & 2, a stretch, strength & conditioning syllabi, and CDTA's Modern Syllabus.

Miss Liane continues to develop professionally through travel and training, attending dance classes and workshops across North America, such as Dance Teacher Web in Las Vegas, The Edge in Los Angeles, and Steps on Broadway in New York City. She has had the privilege of being taught by professionals such as Mia Michaels, Tyce Diorio, Lisa LaTouche, Jennifer Goeke, Bill Prudich, Bobby Newberry, Blake McGrath, Jat-T Scramek, Kane Nelson, Lauren Ritchie, and Stacey Tookey. Miss Liane has performed at the Jubilee Auditorium & Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, Disneyland in Anaheim, and at BB Kings Blues Club in New York City.

Miss Liane values the growth and success of each student she teaches. She aspires to instill confidence, positivity, and a love of dance in each and every one of her students.
